Injectables

Anti-wrinkle injections are procedures used to eliminate visible signs of ageing.

What is this procedure?

Deep facial wrinkles and lines are caused by ageing, excessive sun exposure, heredity and primarily by the repeated muscle contraction over many years.

Anti-wrinkle injections are the most common, non-invasive facial rejuvenating procedures used to eliminate visible signs of ageing by treating lines, wrinkles and folds of skin.

Botulinum toxin type A (Botox) and Dermal fillers are long-lasting anti-wrinkle treatments given through injections.

Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox): a muscle relaxant created by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It can be used safely to reduce the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, primarily around the eyes and forehead as well as between the eyebrows. It works by blocking the nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected using tiny needles. As a result, the affected muscle is temporarily paralysed or frozen. Therefore certain wrinkles may be softened, reduced or even removed.

Botox only treats wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement (dynamic wrinkles), also known as expression lines. The muscle relaxing effect of Botox is temporary and usually lasts up to 3 to 4 months.

Dermal Fillers; are used to improve or replace the lost volume in the skin and enhance cheekbones and plump lips. It is also applied for smoothing the contour of an uneven nose( liquid rhinoplasty) as well as reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles, lines and folds, primarily smile lines.

Hyaluronic acid, the most common form of dermal fillers, is a type of sugar found between skin cells in the body and helps retain water for adding plumpness to the skin. The results of dermal fillers are seen almost immediately. However, though they are long-lasting, they may vary between 6 months to two years.
